Mad Art Nouveau fantasy illustrations by the Belgian artist, Jean de Bosschère, from his 1921 book, 'Weird Islands', available from the Internet Archive in various formats, via Bibliodyssey.
Here is a Shakespeare quote I learned today:
Thou LIEST, most ignorant monster: I am in case to-- Trinculo, The Tempest, Act III, Scene II.
justle a constable. Why, thou deboshed fish thou,
was there ever man a coward that hath drunk so much
sack as I to-day? Wilt thou tell a monstrous lie,
being but half a fish and half a monster?
So, LIEST, a word. And, Trinculo, a name. Who knew?
Other things I learned today:
BABA: some kind of nasty sounding cake
AXIL: the angle of a plant's armpit (we needed a word for that! and you needed to know it!).
So, lots of valuable learning today!
